Remote Software Engineer - Edmonton, Canada

I am very interested in full-stack development (particularly front-end) and I love building mobile apps and web apps. I also have experience in script building, QA, UI/UX designing, and I am currently taking machine learning classes in my final year. In terms of languages, I have worked in React, React Native, Python, C/C++, Visual Basic .Net, Java, and have experience with Linux/Bash and SQL. In addition to this, I have recently completed the Google Cybersecurity Course on Coursera and am working on completing Google’s UI/UX course.

In terms of extra-curricular activities, I have participated in many hackathons (and have been successful in a handful of them) in which I have joined forces with other students to build mobile and web applications. I have built a winning solo python application that allowed users to plan road trips based on current gas prices, hotel prices, attractions, etc. This app would tell you the approximate cost of your trip and help adjust your itinerary to better suit your budget and use less gas. I am most proud of our winning web application for Morgan Stanley’s Code to Give Hackathon in which we built a platform for farmers, volunteers, and food banks to reduce food wastage after a farmer’s harvest. We built this application by including different dashboards in which the users could offer and pick up “shifts” to make their contributions, using modern technologies.

I am also the founder of a small non-profit group called ConnecTech (@ConnecTechCanada on Instagram) through which some friends and myself post opportunities, events, conferences, hackathons, etc. for university students across Canada, to help them get the most out of their university career! Those same friends and I are also working on a fintech start-up involved in AI/ML being used in the stock market to predict trends.
