software engineer and tech lead. And have worked in a variety of environments ranging from small to large scale corporate teams, that included: startups, agencies and on consulting bases.
On a day to day bases I was responsible for gathering the requirements, writing technical designs which includes:
UML diagrams
Sequence diagrams
Flow diagrams
Cloud risk assessments
ERD diagrams
Technical specification which includes:
API documentation: Swagger, Postman Collection
Dev process documentation
Exposing risks in early stages and mitigating factors, liaising with third-party integration partners to align on the requirements, dependencies, managing impediments, tracking progress, reviews on compliance with regards to best practices and ensuring that we deliver according to SLA.
My strongest skills are PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, MySQL, Laravel, Angular and React. I also worked extensively with message and queueing systems like RabbitMQ, Redis and search focused technologies like Elasticsearch.
I also get involved with devops processes like CI/CD, creating build, test and deploy pipelines on Bitbucket, Gitlab CI, Bamboo, XL Release and XL Deploy.
I have worked with technologies like Vagrant and Docker(my favourite) for containerisation,
I’m currently pursuing learning Ansible and Puppet in order to apply this for production deployments.
Assessing the skills that each resource has, identifying the gap and requiring the required resources when the need arises. In some cases this involves training the team for the required skills and referring them to upskill where necessary. Performing annual performance reviews, code reviews and as a career guidance mentor. Ensuring that the team writes unit tests where required and that the code quality, scalability and performance is at the level agreed per SLA. Making sure that RCA are added on each Jira where needed and also helping out with time/effort estimates. Managing sprint planning, retrospective meetings and daily standups.
Also have professional experience managing the client and acting as a strategic business partner by deploying state of the art solutions that gives clients a competitive edge. I help out on client briefs and answer complex questions that they might have. Coming up with software architecture that clearly gives visual presentation of final product/features and getting them approved before project kickoffs.
