I'm 4 years into my web development career. I was a systems admin for about 16 years before attending DevPoint Labs full-stack bootcamp, where I studied Ruby on Rails and React.
As it turns out, I don't use much React at my current LAMP-heavy position. My main project is a PrestaShop ecommerce site -- PHP and a lot of jQuery -- and I handle a few other CodeIgniter & Laravel PHP applications.
I've assisted with integrating our Prestashop app with Odoo OpenERP, the latter of which manages the company's inventory.
Common duties include:
* Writing MySQL queries for reports requested by various business units, and usually creating front-end views so they can get those reports on demand.
* Creating Prestashop modules which enable users to manage & modify website content
* Overriding core Prestashop functionality to fit business needs
* Creating & updating front-office views as requested by marketing
